Common Ground

Assembly

Common Ground is cultivated through a participatory design process. Together with local artists, cultural organizations, citizens, and residents, we co-create the program. We have already established a broad network of participants — the network of co-creators — in which everyone acts as a “farmer” of the Common Ground.

Annual Co-creators' Assembly

Common Ground is cultivated through a participatory design process. Together with local artists, cultural organizations, citizens, and residents, we co-create the program. We have already established a broad network of participants — the network of co-creators — in which everyone acts as a “farmer” of the Common Ground.

This participatory design process unfolds in three distinct steps: it begins with the meetings of the co-creators. Through these meetings, participants form thematic working groups, each focusing on different areas of the program.

Subsequently, the working groups develop specific ideas for projects and actions, which then become part of the overall program.

Through this methodology, we develop the Common Ground as a cultural program. So far, we estimate that there are more than 1,300 co-creators. However, this number continues to grow with every new meeting, every new working group, and every new event held.

Every year, starting from May 2024, the Organization invites all working groups to an open consultation — the Annual Co-creators’ Assembly. The aim is to review the operation of the working groups, the projects that have emerged through the open co-creation processes, and the actions that follow. Furthermore, it’s important for this ever-expanding group of people to get to know each other as they constitute a community which actively affects the cultural and social reality of the city and district of Larnaka.
