Larnaka is officially the European Capital of Culture 2030 — a historic and deeply collective achievement that belongs to everyone who believed in, supported, and co-created the vision of a more humane, inclusive, and sustainable city.
From the bottom of our hearts, we thank the artists, organisations, volunteers, schools, community groups, civil society, sponsors, the Municipality of Larnaka and all its departments, as well as the local businesses that stood by us during the most critical moments of our bid, especially during the visit of the European Experts’ Committee on December 8 — Island Boutique Hotel, Hotel Indigo, Stou Roushia, and Zorbas Bakeries.
We also warmly thank the wonderful Lemesos 2030 team for their inspiration, collaboration, and example; together, we envisioned a new cultural reality for Cyprus and Europe.
Larnaka 2030 is not simply a cultural programme it is a shared promise to create, through art, culture, and dialogue with Europe and the Middle East, the city we deserve.
Larnaka has proven that when a community moves forward together, it can speak to Europe with its own authentic voice.
