On May 14 2023 at 19:00, Zouhouri Square was filled with colourful pillows, inviting the citizens of Larnaka to relax and experience a unique music event.
The event was organized by Larnaka 2030, Larnaka Municipality, and Europe Direct Larnaka as part of the celebrations for Europe Day.
The event began with an open discussion with Larnaka 2030, the Municipal/Community Youth Council of Larnaka, and Europe Direct. The locals had the opportunity to discuss the future of the city and exchange opinions on how they envision Larnaka as a European Capital of Culture 2030.
Later the organizers invited everyone to a special performance "The Lullabies of the World", a production of the lyricist Stavros Stavrou. The performance has premiered in November 2021 in Cyprus and since then, it has traveled at the Hellenic Center in London and the House of Cyprus in Athens.
Savvina Georgiou, Katerina Paraschou, and the musician Angelos Cheipeloglou traveled the audience in different European countries through ten traditional lullabies, inviting us to discover a most tender and caring aspect of the european culture. This music trip to Europe went through Cyprus, Corsica, Italy, Hungary, Denmark, Ukraine, and the United Kingdom, all the way to Russia and Armenia.
