Regional Larnaka WG

There are four working groups, one for each municipality of the region: Dromolaxia- Meneou WG, Aradippou WG, Athienou WG and Lefkara WG.

Locals from various disciplines work together to build the cultural strategy of their municipality, following the participatory design process of Larnaka 2030. Through this process, we are creating a platform for cooperation between the region and the various WGs of Larnaka 2030. This way, the overall programme intertwines with the region in two ways.

On the one hand, projects and ideas that are being formed within the city’s WGs are then extended into the region (for example, the activities of CARE Festival 2024 have extended to towns of the region, such as Aradippou, Pervolia, Kiti and Meneou, whereas activities of Larnaka BioDesign Festival 2024 have taken place in Athienou) and projects and ideas generated in the Regional WGs become part of the overall programme, inviting the city in the region.

Such an example is the Pathkia-Pathkia walking tour that took place in Dromolaxia-Meneou Municipality, organised by the local youth organisation Allospos. The tour has been an invitation to citizens and local authorities to re-imagined their towns as inclusive and sustainable common grounds.
