On Thursday 27 February 2025 the Deputy Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Cyprus announced today the shortlist of Cyprus’ candidate ECoC’s 2030 that will move on to the second and final phase of the competition.
Larnaka and Lemesos are the two cities that will continue the exciting journey of the competition!
We would like to warmly congratulate all the candidate cities, those that passed and those that did not. All of us have envisioned a more beautiful tomorrow based on cultural development and this can only lead to a clear improvement of our cities.
As a team we are excited and thrilled. We would like to thank from the bottom of our hearts the hundreds of co-creators of our project, the municipalities and communities that are committed to the great goal of seeing Larnaka become the European Capital of Culture of 2030, our sponsors, as well as our fellow citizens who participated and support this great effort.
We passed the first test successfully, the effort is intensifying in view of the submission of the second bid book in the autumn of 2025 and the final presentation before the committee this coming December.
