Dora Hadjicosti Sotiriou was born in Ormidia village in Larnaka district, where she lives. She is married to Xenios and has two children, Sotiris and Chryso.

After graduating from Agios Georgios High School, she studied at the School of Philosophy of the University of Athens. Following her graduation, she worked in secondary schools. She was also involved in school and amateur theatre for many years.

She participated in juries for Professional, Amateur and School Theatre and she served as a member of the Board of Directors and the Artistic Committee of the Cyprus Theatre Organisation (CTO-“THOC”). She is a member, and for the last six years chairperson, of the committee of the “Tefkros Anthias-Thodosis Pierides” Cultural Contribution Award, an award given to people of Arts and Letters for their long and recognized contribution to culture. She has been the founder of the Ormidia Cultural Association “TO RODI”.

For many years, she has been the Associaton’s President and now its Vice-President. During her presidency, the Cultural Association was highly active in organizing exchanges and events with groups of young people in Europe, within the framework of European programs. She is active on cultural issues for various committees. She studied Cypriot dialectical poetry and edited editions of poems by folk poets.
