OPEN CALL FOR EMERGING ARTISTS & CULTURAL PROFESSIONALS IN THE CULTURAL SECTOR
MedSEA – Socially Engaged Arts in the Mediterranean Area has officially launched its open call for emerging artists and cultural professionals working with community-based and socially engaged artistic practices.
We are looking for 12 emerging artists and culture professionals who are passionate about working with communities, urban realities, people’s memories and oral histories. Artists/professionals that are willing to deep dive into the communities, engage in a process of understanding and co-creation with them and transform this experience in in situ art works.
Through a month – long residency, the selected participants willwork with local communities in Larnaka (Cyprus) and Sfax (Tunisia) and create works that will be presented in Mahallart Festival (Larnaka) and Hors – Lits Festival (Sfax).
The MedSEA project brings together a dynamic consortium of four organisations in the Mediterranean active in socially engaged art practices: Larnaka 2030 European Capital of Culture (Cyprus), Al Badil (Tunisia), Liv.in.g. (Italy) and Busart (Greece).
MedSEA is co-funded by the European Union through the Creative Europe programme.
