The European Capital of Culture 2023 and a candidate ECOC 2030 face off Larnaka 2030 welcomed the youth basketball team of Panelefsiniakos Athletic Club.
The athletes and their companions, along with colleagues from the Elefsina 2023 team, spent four days in the city, culminating in a friendly match against the youth team of AEK Larnaka. Through sports, a former European Capital of Culture (Elefsina) and a candidate city(Larnaka) came together, strengthening historical ties and reinforcing faith in a shared European future.
The residents of the city and district of Larnaka embraced with enthusiasm the friendly rivalry between the Eleusinian Mysteries and the Stoic philosophical tradition! A meeting that highlights sport as our common ground – the meeting point of people and diverse communities.
