On 8 December 2025, on the occasion of the visit of the European Experts to our city as part of the evaluation of Larnaka’s candidacy for European Capital of Culture 2030, the Municipal Art Gallery will host a major community artwork by renowned visual artist Marios Spiliopoulos.
This is a work that uses as its raw material the traces and paths of people—their shoes, which have walked both famous and unknown streets—and now become mosaics of a collective narrative.
Anyone who wishes may lend a pair of used shoes to become part of this artwork. With a single pair of old shoes, you co-create the collective imprint of Larnaka’s memory and support the city’s effort to become ECoC 2030!
Bring your shoes, along with your contact details (full name and phone number), to the Larnaka 2030 offices at Zouchouri Square. We invite everyone to become companions on the journey of such an influential contemporary artist. We invite you to leave your mark on the artistic path of our city.
