Culture for CCC. Empowering the Cultural & Creative Sectors
Larnaka, a member of the Culture Next Network, will host the 16th Culture Next Conference from 6–8 May 2026 under the theme “Culture for CCS – Empowering the Cultural & Creative Sectors.”
The three-day event will bring together over 50 participants from European cultural networks and European Capital of Culture cities. A Public Day on 7 May will connect the conference with Europe Day celebrations and engage local stakeholders.
The conference focuses on fair and sustainable working conditions in the cultural sector, addressing topics such as care policies, inclusion, burnout prevention, and support for artists and cultural professionals. Contributors include representatives from EIT Culture & Creativity, European Commission Directorate-General for Education and Culture, and EU-Japan Fest Japan Committee.
Recently named European Capital of Culture 2030, Larnaka builds on its Common Ground vision — promoting co-creation, inclusion, and a culture of care. The programme also explores cultural resilience, governance models, and the realities faced by artists in crisis contexts.
The conference will conclude with a Policy Paper on Empowering the CCS, strengthening Larnaka’s role in the European cultural dialogue.
