ΜαχαΛart 2023 celebrated community and creativity through two standout events: Drumming up Art and Hope, a neighborhood project blending music, sculpture, storytelling, and shared meals; and Princess Zehra, a site-specific promenade play that led audiences through Turkomahala with stories that bridged the magical and the everyday.

Princess Zehra

A group of actors, musicians and residents invited the audience to walk through the streets of Turkomahalas and meet Mannouris’ heroines and heroes, a little strange and otherworldly, yet rather common and familiar.

Drumming up Art and Hope

Drumming up Art and Hope was an exciting project of community music and sculpture. Citizens exchanged stories, sounds and recipes in the neighbourhoods of Tsiakkillero, Faneromeni, Ais Giannis and Chrysopolitissa.
