Larnaka Biodesign Festival 2024

Common Ground

The second edition of the Larnaka Biodesign Festival, capitalizing on the strong footprint of the first edition of the programme, sought to strengthen people’s psychic ties with the natural environment. We are part of the natural world, we are not distant, nor are we another body. This new connection will hopefully become the common ground where a new ecological ethic, a new vision of sustainability and fair coexistence will develop.

Coming from the Soil marked the beginning of the programme.  The first thematic week focused on soil-centred practices, starting with soil and all that emerges from it.  Moving thematically to the second week, the festival expanded geographically, focusing on common ways of being together around the dinner table.  The closing week was dominated by the young people and children of the city.

Kyriakos Christofides was the curator of the Larnaka Biodesign Festival. The project received a grant from the “Kypria” programme of the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Cyprus.
